Eindhoven is Lampegat

Vanaf gisteren tot en met aanstaande dinsdag (als ik het goed heb) heet Eindhoven geen Eindhoven, maar Lampegat. Het is carnaval! Joram heeft gisteren op school carnaval gevierd en vandaag ben ik met hem naar de optocht geweest (papa moest zich voorbereiden op een HEEL belangrijke wedstrijd!) Joram ging gisten met zijn Taekwondo pak naar school en vandaag was hij omgetoverd tot tovenaar. We gingen op de fiets naar de stad en hebben het uit kunnen houden tot het einde van de optocht. Het was zoooooooo koud. De optocht was geweldig, Joram was natuurlijk vooral erg blij met al het snoepgoed dat van de wagens werd gegooid en uitgedeeld! Hij werd uit het publiek gepikt om de confettimachine aan de gang te krijgen. Hij vond het geweldig (kijk maar naar zijn lach op de foto) Ook heeft hij nog vier carnavals medailles gevangen! Morgen gaan we nog kindercarnaval vieren in 'De Merckthoeve' en misschien maandag nog even met ons drietjes de stad in.

Yesterday Carnival started and it will take all the way until tuesday. Eindhoven is not called Eindhoven anymore, but Lampegat (free transl: Lightbulb hamlet)-> referring to Philips and their lightbulbs that were made here. Yesterday Joram celebrated at school and today Joram and myself went to the big parade (daddy had to prepare himself for a BIG game tonight!). We lasted all the way which was kind of special, because it was FREEZING! At school Joram wore his Taekwondo outfit and today he was dressed up as a wizard. The parade was awesome. Joram was mostly happy with all the candy that was trown and given from the parade wagons. Joram was picked out of the people watching to get the confetti machine going. He was thrilled (see his face in the picture) He also caught four carnival medals. Tomorrow we'll be going to the childrens carnaval in 'De Merckthoeve' and thee three of us might be going downtown on monday.
