Scrapping with kraft cardstock

Though there's always been trends in scrapbooking, kraft paper has been one of the major trends in the last few years. I started using kraft cardstock when I ordered a collection of Bazzill and kraft was one of the 'colors' in that collection. I like the natural look of the paper but my 'love' still goes to the black and whites as basics.

I made this layout with kraft cardstock and I am not totally happy with the final result. I do not know if that is a result from the kraft cardstock or just the whole look of this layout. I wanted to keep it sinple and not use to many additional colors in combination with the photo. Again: I am not totally happy but still wanted to post this one! The scan is a bit blurry because of the bulkyness............... The detailed pics are better.
The big rub-on was only black but I added some white to let it stand out more (I love my white Signo Uniball marker) The same for the patterned paper; that was also only b/w, I added the red. Other than that: I punched the date with holes into the journaling spot, love that little extra touch............

Er zijn altijd trends in het scrapbookwereldje maar het gebruik van 'kraft cardstock' is toch wel een van de grootste van de laatste jaren. Kraft is niet meer dan een vermelding van de kleur. Je kunt het het beste omschrijven als de kleur van papieren zakken zoals je die bij de groentenboer krijgt.

Ik ben begonnen met het gebruik van kraft cardstock toen ik ooit eens een collectie Bazzill cardstock bestelde en daar zat die kleur (is het eigenlijk wel een kleur?????) bij. Ik vind de naturel look van kraft erg mooi maar mijn voorkeur blijft toch nog altijd bij het wit en zwart cardstock als basis.

Deze layout heb ik dus gemaakt met kraft cardstock als basis maar ben helemaal niet tevreden met het uiteinelijke resultaat. Ik weet niet of dat nu door de cardstock komt of dat het me helemaal niet zo aanstaat. Ik wilde het niet te kleurig maken door geen extra kleuren toe te voegen. nogmaals; ik ben niet tevreden met het resultaat maar wilde deze layout toch wel plaatsen.

De scan is een beetje wazig maar dat komt door de grote hoeveelheid extra's. De detail foto's zijn beter.

De grote rub-on was alleen maar zwart en die heb ik zelf een beetje ingekleurd om te zorgen dat ie een beetje meer opvalt (Geweldige pen, mijn witte Signo Uniball). Datzelfde geldt voor het dessinpapier, dat was ook alleen maar zwart/wit, daar heb ik het rood toegevoegd. En als laatste: Ik heb de datum in de journaling spot gestanst. Geeft het toch net een beetje extra.................
