Scrapping with quotes

I am a total quote lover. I have been having this little notebook and over the years it's been filling up with the greatest quotes. I could not really tell you my favorite, there's quite a few that I love. I like quotes from Eleonor Roosevelt and from Dr. Seuss. The ones from Eleonor Roosevelt are very filosophic and the ones from Dr. Seuss full of humour but so true. Quotes are great to use on layouts but also on cards. There's funny ones, inspirational ones and even rude ones. On this layout I used a quote from an unknown author about TV. This is it:

TV. If kids are entertained by two letters, imagine the fun they'll have with twenty-six. Open your child's imagination. Open a book

Joram has a lot of problems reading and they did all sorts of tests on him to see where the problem came from. Still we have no idea why he can't read well. This year he is doing a lot better but the progession that he has made is still not bringing him up to the normal level. We are now waiting for a different set of tests, which hopefully will help him to improve. You can imagine that Joram does not like to read. So a picture with him reading in his PJ's (looking quite relaxed) is a rare thing.

Ik ben een echte quote liefhebber. Ik heb al jaren een notitieboekje waarin ik, iedere keer als ik een goede quote tegenkom, deze opschrijf. Door de jaren heen is het een flinke verzameling geworden. Ik kan je niet echt mijnfavoriete quote geven, er zijn zo ontzettend veel goede quotes. Ik vind de quotes van Eleonor Roosevelt en Dr. Seuss helemaal geweldig. De quotes van Eleonor Roosevelt zijn altijd erg filosofisch en die van Dr. Seuss altijd vol met humor maar zeker zo waar.

Quotes zijn gewledig om te begruiken op layouts, maar ook zeker op kaarten. Er zijn grappige quotes, inspirerende quotes en zelfs grove quotes. Op deze layout heb ik een quote gebruikt over TV van een onbekende auteur. Dit is hem (vrij vertaald):

TV. Als kinderen al vermaakt worden door twee letters kun je je wel voorstellen hoeveel plezier ze zullen hebben met zes-en-twintig. Open je kind zijn fantasie, open en boek

Joram heeft heel veel problemen met lezen en ondanks dat ze hem al veel hebben getest weten we nog steeds niet waarom het niet goed gaat. Dit jaar gaat het gelukkig een stuk beter, maar de vooruitgang die hij boekt brengt hem nog steeds niet op het normale niveau van een kind van zijn leeftijd. We wachten nu weer op een andere test wat hem hopelijk de goede richting op helpt. Je kunt je dus ook voorstellen dat lezen niet echt zijn favoriete bezigheid is. Dus een foto waarop hij in zijn pyama ligt te lezen (en er heel ontspannen uitziet) is wel een unicum.
