It has been a long long time..........

I have had a blogging break before but this time it was a pretty long one. Sometimes life just gets in the way and sometimes that results in pretty big changes. And when I tell you pretty big, trust me, they are pretty big.

I also had a huge mojo problem because of life and I do not really know where my mojo went to but I can assure you it left the building and was nowhere to be found.
The last few weeks I have been trying to scrap again and I am slowly getting back in business.

I have scrapped a few pages in the last week but none of them were worth blogging about. Until this one............ finally one that got approved by me (pain in the butt I am)

I made this one with this weeks Sketch-y Friday at ScrapMuch. They has a great double pager for a sketch but as usual I only used half of it. Again a one pager. Nothing new here either....

The pics were taken in Paris last year where DS and his BFF since 2yo were visiting to celebrate friendship. This is the sketch they posted:

Products used:

CS: Bazzill
Vellum: Crate Paper
Acetate: Heidi Swapp
Stamps: Stampin'Up
Ink: Memento
Twine: Twinery
2 card: Ikea
Misc: staples, black pen, puffy sticker

Somehow I am not getting my main photo in focus.... will try again tomorrow.

The last two detailed photo's of my LO show the fun I always have using staples. Great way to secure everything and yet still look great..... love staples.....

Thanks for popping by and I hope to be back soon......

Anything goes....

How much fun can a challenge be where the only challenge is: anything goes? Well, harder than I thought and expected. Again I made a card, this time for a crafty friend who need a little pad on the shoulder.

I am posting this for the challenge over at Su-perchallenges. I always loved blue, no matter what but with card I seem to grab my blue inks EVERY time. Sorry if it gets boring......
And somehow the rhinestones in the pics look kinda green but they are NOT, they are exactly the same color as the turquoise ink. Guess my camera played tricks there.

Misc: Rhine stones

Thanks for stopping by again, enjoy hump day today and make sure you do some crafty stuff today!

Sketch and a color challenge

I decided to make a year worth of cards. So cards for all the people that celebrate their birthday, anniversary or wedding and make some extra ones for sick people and even a condoleance card. And you never know when someone gets pregnant or has a baby so I will include those too.

For this card I used the colour challenge from Su-per Challenges and the sketch from Let's Scrap. I flipped the sketch because somehow it seemed better that way.

I already have a recepient in mind for this card......

Stamp: Stampin' Up
Embossing folder: Darice
Sequins: Making Memories*
Twine: Divine Twine
Misc: Burlap, pin

Manufactureres marked with a * are not in business anymore (unfortunately)

Thanks for popping by and enjoy the rest of the week. Make sure you get some crafty thing done!

Another card

I have quit a few birthdays coming up and so cards always come in handy this time a year. For this one I participated in the Su-perchallenges. There was a card up for inspiration and the challenge was just to let the card inspire you. As for me, the blue and the flowers of the card inspired me to make this card. I needed another masculin card and I think I pulled it off. Well, hopefully......

CS: Bazzill
Twine: Divine Twine
Misc: Glitter spray
Again I used the glitter spray. Too bad you can not see it properly here. The pic really does not do it any justice. Somehow it now seems the card has all grey speckles on it. Mmmmhhhhh.....

Off to check out Let's Scrap to see what our DT did and hopefully will do a LO tonight.

Well, anyways, you get the point. Happy hump day all of you!

Let's Scrap challenge

Let's Scrap has had a huge make-over. We changed from a site to a blog but we are still the fun site we have always been. There's sketches, challenges and still a design team. Chriss was the one who kicked off our first challenge and I promised ot play.
It is a recipe challenge which is one of my faves for sure. It gives you the freedom to be creative and I always love ot see how everyon makes somethingcompletely different with the same ingredients.
This was the recipe Chriss gave us:

Please make a card or layout with the following items included:

3 patterned papers
1 Sentiment (stamped or chipboard/sticker)
1 image (you do not have to hand color)
2 buttons
some twine.

And this is what I came up with:

CS: Bazzill
Freather Image: Oh So Lovely
Twine: Trendy Twine
Misc: Buttons

As you can see; the glue is still showing underneath the buttons. Did not want to wait long enough for it to dry...... But trust me: It dries completely clear!

The challenge over at Let's Scrap is running until September the 18th so you still have enough time to play.

Have a great week!

Masculin card

I have told this before and will tell it again: I am not a card maker and not a stamp person. Though I do like to send home made cards to friends and family and so I struggle and figt with cards, sketches stamps and envelopes. not sure why I keep punishing myself here.

As for stamping techniques: I know how to heat emboss and how to layer stamps. I hate colouring stamps (digi or actual stamps) but I do like colouring in general. I would like to learn how to mask while stamping and how to use more than one colour on a stamp.

Why this talking about techniques? At Red Rubber Inspirationals they were talking about techniques and I made a card with the only technique I really master: Layering. Though you might wonder if it is a rea technique or just a matter of stamp on stamp on stamp. Not sure and to be honest: I could not care less: I love how this card turned out. I planned to make a masculin card for a birthday and it looks pretty masculin to me.

Misc: glitter spray, sequins

About the glitter spray: I use the cheapest glitter hair spray I can find. I have been using it for years and it works like a charm. The glitter is really fine and I also find it a great fixator for all media used. The spray can I buy only costs me ,99. Pretty good for a scrapbook supply, right?
The last two photo's are a bit crappy but I wanted to show you the effect of the glitter spray. Cool, isn't it?

Have a great weekend!

Stamping and cards

While spending our summer at the campground I realized scrapping is not a hobby for such a small space as a trailer. Andcan you imagine where your supplies would end up when you are scrapping outside and having wind blowing around you (only a little bit of wind will do, trust me)

I own a lot of stamps and hardly ever use them but I just purchased two sets from Stampin' Up that can be used for scrapping. (for those who like to know: the 'Gorgeous Grunch' and the 'Work of Art set')

Yesterday I started palying around with it and made a card for the Su-perchallenges. I am still not a card person or a stamp person but hey, those are easy to make when you do not have a whole lot of room and limited supplies.

Supplies:
CS: Bazzill
Stamps: Stampin' Up
Sentiment: Pebbles Inc.
Acetate: Studio Calico
Die (heart): Cuttlebug
Misc: Doily

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

DT challenge: Picture inspired

The current challenge at Let's Scrap is hosted by our DT member Michelle. Michelle has such a creative style of scrapbooking (which I always call 'artsy fartsy') and her work sure made me think outside my box.
Her challenge for Let's Scrap was this one:

Challenge - Picture Inspired Layout

This is a scanned photo from my own collection taken in 2001, from The Small Cloister in Westminster Abbey

1. For this challenge only layout allowed, please use only Let's Scrap sketch

2. You must use at least 3 colors or 3 elements that you see from the photo to your layout : the vines, architectural arch, fountain, gates, water, shaped bushes, creepers, overgrown weeds (?!) etc

3. Please write a short note how the photo inspires you when you upload into the gallery.

As for my LO for this challenge: I took inspiration from the green (so NOT my color to scrap with) The vintage/old look from the photo (my photo and also Michelle's) and the water, which I tried to capture with the white ink drops and a dash of blue here and there.

Here's my LO:

Again I used my own handwriting made into a cutting file for my Silhouette. I really LOVE that feature! One day I will write you all a tutorial on that. It is really really easy! Did I already mention that I love that feature?
Anyways: You still have time to participate. This challenge closes at 23.59 Let's Scrap time (the time on the main page)
I really loved participating in this one!

In the mood, mojo has returned

This month Cathy, my fellow administrator at Let's Scrap is hosting a LOAD again. For those who have no clue what a LOAD is: Simple, it stands for LayOut A Day. So basically your goal is to make as many LO's as days of that particular month. Though I NEVER (really, NEVER) make the entire 30 or 31 I always get pushed into scrapping and am much more productive than I normally would have been. The same goes for this months LOAd, I am already at 13 and normally I probably would have made only one or two.
Though there is one thing I really hate about the LOAD: It always makes me realize how I would love to be albe ot go to crops or scrap with others.
But hey, enough said, let me show you what I made so far: Most single page, single photo LO's. No cards yet. All made with Let's Scrap sketches. Enjoy!
