Sketches and Loose Interpretation

I love sketches, I really do. But sometimes I look at what I made using the sketch and wonder where I wandered off...... Yesterday I made my first Christmas card for this year and it did not look like the sketch from Su-per Challenges at all, not even a little.
Today I made another Chrsitmas card using a different sketch from SU-per Challenges and again: Where did I loose the sketch? Must admit, I did use the sketch, I honestly did. Maybe I got inspired by the star on the sketch, the text in the box or maybe something else. Not really sure.
Enough talking typing:

This is the sketch they posted:

And this is what I came up with:

Products used

Cardstock: Bazzill
Cutting die: Stampin' Up
Rub-ons: Quickuts (now We R Memory Keepers)

I typed the word 'Christmas' on a pieceo f cardstock and used that below the diecut. I used the negative of the diecut instead of the actual diecut.

Thanks for dropping by! Hope to see you again....

And another card

Okay, I am back. Back from spending 6 days in Budapest and back with a new card.
I made this card with a sketch from SU-per  Challenges. I actually made two with this sketch but I do not think they would have approved the first one I made......It was surely a very loose interpretation of the sketch. But I have to say this: It was my first Christmas card for this year. I got started on time this year

This is the sketch they posted:

Simple Card Making

I was not a card maker until I started desigining the card sketches for Let's Scrap. Since then not one store bought card left my house. I love how simple and yet stunning some cards can be and how you can brighten up someone's day with a tiny gesture. As for me; digital cards will never replace the ones delivered by the mailman to your doorstep.

With the flower die I used for this card I used my Tool 'n One made by Spellbinders. Such a great and nifty tool that really saves me a lot of time every time I use it. If you need to think of a crafty Christmas gift: Perfect pick!

I made this card for the colour challenge at SU-per Challenges. The colour combo was a hard one at first but I really love the result. There's a good friend that will be very happy when it will land on the door mat. This was the colour combo given to use:

Gotta love my mojo

The hardest thing about creativity for me is when I lost my mojo. There is no easy way to get it back. I used to browse online galleries to find inspiration and that worked quite well but with all the major galleries disappearing it is hard to find a good source. Always love the LO's at Studio Calico but they also make me feel like such a lousy scrapper, such talented people there. Pinterest also does the job, though I have to admit Pinterest does the job for all my problems. Crap, I hate love Pinterest.
Sketches and exampleso f the sketch seems to work pretty well for me too,

This LO is made with a sketch from Stuck! Sketches. Awesome sketch it is. Loved working with the diagonal lines and paper that has been in my stash for sooooo long! The pics are from march 2014 while visiting the oceanside and my Little Lady just kept on jumping and jumping from those dunes. Just believe me when I tell you there was sand EVERYWHERE!
This is the sketch that was given:

Products used:

CS: Bazzill
PP: DCWV
Misc: Sequins

The detailed photo's are more accurate that the full LO photo, not sure what it is with my photographing abilities the last two days......
Thanks for popping by and liking my work!

It has been a long long time..........

I have had a blogging break before but this time it was a pretty long one. Sometimes life just gets in the way and sometimes that results in pretty big changes. And when I tell you pretty big, trust me, they are pretty big.

I also had a huge mojo problem because of life and I do not really know where my mojo went to but I can assure you it left the building and was nowhere to be found.
The last few weeks I have been trying to scrap again and I am slowly getting back in business.

I have scrapped a few pages in the last week but none of them were worth blogging about. Until this one............ finally one that got approved by me (pain in the butt I am)

I made this one with this weeks Sketch-y Friday at ScrapMuch. They has a great double pager for a sketch but as usual I only used half of it. Again a one pager. Nothing new here either....

The pics were taken in Paris last year where DS and his BFF since 2yo were visiting to celebrate friendship. This is the sketch they posted:

Products used:

Somehow I am not getting my main photo in focus.... will try again tomorrow.

The last two detailed photo's of my LO show the fun I always have using staples. Great way to secure everything and yet still look great..... love staples.....
