Let's Scrap Leap around the World blog hop

Even though January is only 10 days old I am already thinking about February. This year is leap year so we all know what that means. We have an extra day to scrap!!!!!!! ROFL.
There is going to be a huge blog hop at Let's Scrap starting the first of February and ending the 29th. And trust me, if you want to finish all the challenges: You need all those days!
Everyone can participate but to be in the draw for a prize you will have to be a member of Let's Scrap.
I will be one of the hosts and trust me: It is going to be fun!

I'll have to say thank you to one specific person, or else this blog hop would not have been organized. Mindi, thank you so much for organizing the most part of this hop, you are the best!

Have a great week!

Long time no see.................

I have been very very busy. Taking over Let's Scrap just a week before a HUGE blog hop starts is a garantuee of getting things in order. I am now totally worked in on all the stuff there needs to be done. The blog hop made a lot of new members joining Let's Scrap. We love that!
Something else we did and I think it is sooooo cool: We started two new challenge groups. One is '100 layouts in 2011' and the other one is 'Let's Scrap our stash'. Both of them are pretty self explainatoiry. The 100 group is more or less set up for anyone who wants to achieve a goal in 2011. That could be a 100 layouts, but also 50 or 200. Just want to reach that goal.
The stash group is also fun. As the name says: We need to scrap our stash. You can join just for motivation, you can join for tips, but also to keep track of what oyu are doing. There is a thread where you can keep your monthly records. And as it is at Let's Scrap: Nothing difficult or pushy, just enjoy! Just join Let's Scrap and check it out!

And then there's the Blog Hop still going on. The design team came up with so many cool challenges, I am impressed! I started at Resolution #1 and I hopefully will be working on #13 tomorrow night. And the hop does not end until the 14th of February, so I will have time enough. If you still want to join please take a look at the top post of my blog, it has all the information you need.

Well, now it is time again ot share a layout I made. I did quite a bit last week but I am only going to share this one. DD Jinte loves to dress up. She just walks around with necklaces around her neck the whole day and puts on sunglasses, bling shoes (from my MIL bought at the Gap, thanks Janny, she loves them!) and not to forget: That blingie tiara! These pics were taken at 6.30 in the moring so she is still wearing her PJ's.

Your layout published as a sketch?

We are having the coolest contest at Let's Scrap. If you have a favorite layout (which is not based on a sketch) you can enter in the contest. You could be the the lucky winner of your own sketch by Cheri O'Neill and a scrappy price! And the best: It is going to be one of the January sketches at Let's Scrap so all the members can use your sketch to work with. Isn't that the coolest? The submitting deadline is December 15th, so you still have time to pick your favorite layout, scan or take pics and e-mail it to Cheri!
Here are the official rules.

YOUR LAYOUTS = JANUARY'S SKETCHES!!

We are having a little sketchy contest! Send me your favorite
double-page layout and/or a card to dance@tekstar.com. Our Design Team
will vote and choose the top 3 double-page layouts and one card that
they think is OUT-STANDING! (We will be looking for fun elements and
photo placement, easily sketchablity, and overall eye-catching layouts).
Then I will make a sketch from them and post them for the January
sketches. Each winner will receive a special scrappy gift as well as
being highlighted on the main page for that week!

RULES:

**Only submit ONE Layout and/or ONE card
**All entries must be emailed to me by December 15th.
**Include your name and emailing address on your email please.

We can't wait to see your work!!!!

We have been to GLOW / WE zijn naar GLOW geweest!

I think we probably picked the wettest day of the year, but we were tough and we went to GLOW. One week a year downtown Eindhoven is all about artificial light and all its possibilities. It is amazing to see. DS Joram and myself went together for the last couple of years and this year it was even more spectacular and unexpected. It is really hard to explain what it is and what it looks like but a lot of buildings are lit and then in a different and unconventional way; there were fish swimming over one of the big churches downtown and another building they made it seem like it was collapsing. Very impressive.
We got soaking wet, we came home and right away jumped in the shower. It was very hard to get some nice shots of the diffferent buildings and events (because of both the rain and the darkness). If you are in the area: Tomorrow will be the last night for this year!
Reminds me: I have to order some more pics so I can do some scrapping with recent pics .

A reminder: Today is the last day you can enter my challenge at Let's Scrap. You can see my post about it HERE. I have a pretty cool price for the winner!

For all of you: Have a great weekend, stay safe and enjoy! And............... don't forget to smile

Kaisercraft 30 days of Creative Contests

I was just reading the Kaisercraft blog and came upon this: Kaisercraft is hosting a 30 day long event of a contest a day with great prices to win. It is called: '30 days of Creative Contests'.
Kaisercraft is an Australian scrapbooking company and they make such awesome products! I think I have all of their rub-ons (Okay, you see me being ashamed? No way, I just admitted I have this addiction called scrapping, LOL)

Too bad that the contest is already been running for 13 days. There's some great things to make. I love the little ice cream cone that you're suppose to use for an embellishment. There's another little thing that I read which is not so nice: They only ship their prices to Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania, USA & Canada (excluding Quebec). Maybe I can use my inlaws as my home address!
