Gotta love my mojo

The hardest thing about creativity for me is when I lost my mojo. There is no easy way to get it back. I used to browse online galleries to find inspiration and that worked quite well but with all the major galleries disappearing it is hard to find a good source. Always love the LO's at Studio Calico but they also make me feel like such a lousy scrapper, such talented people there. Pinterest also does the job, though I have to admit Pinterest does the job for all my problems. Crap, I hate love Pinterest.
Sketches and exampleso f the sketch seems to work pretty well for me too,

This LO is made with a sketch from Stuck! Sketches. Awesome sketch it is. Loved working with the diagonal lines and paper that has been in my stash for sooooo long! The pics are from march 2014 while visiting the oceanside and my Little Lady just kept on jumping and jumping from those dunes. Just believe me when I tell you there was sand EVERYWHERE!
This is the sketch that was given:

Products used:

CS: Bazzill
PP: DCWV
Misc: Sequins

The detailed photo's are more accurate that the full LO photo, not sure what it is with my photographing abilities the last two days......
Thanks for popping by and liking my work!

It has been a long long time..........

I have had a blogging break before but this time it was a pretty long one. Sometimes life just gets in the way and sometimes that results in pretty big changes. And when I tell you pretty big, trust me, they are pretty big.

I also had a huge mojo problem because of life and I do not really know where my mojo went to but I can assure you it left the building and was nowhere to be found.
The last few weeks I have been trying to scrap again and I am slowly getting back in business.

I have scrapped a few pages in the last week but none of them were worth blogging about. Until this one............ finally one that got approved by me (pain in the butt I am)

I made this one with this weeks Sketch-y Friday at ScrapMuch. They has a great double pager for a sketch but as usual I only used half of it. Again a one pager. Nothing new here either....

The pics were taken in Paris last year where DS and his BFF since 2yo were visiting to celebrate friendship. This is the sketch they posted:

Products used:

CS: Bazzill
Vellum: Crate Paper
Acetate: Heidi Swapp
Stamps: Stampin'Up
Ink: Memento
Twine: Twinery
2 card: Ikea
Misc: staples, black pen, puffy sticker

Somehow I am not getting my main photo in focus.... will try again tomorrow.

The last two detailed photo's of my LO show the fun I always have using staples. Great way to secure everything and yet still look great..... love staples.....

Thanks for popping by and I hope to be back soon......

My first mixed media experience

I always love looking at all the mixed media canvasses here and there and am a big fan of Kelly Rae Roberts. And....I have always wanted to try some mixed media myself. I know that one thing I love about scrapping the way I do it is that I have total control of the outcome. Something you have NOT when you do mixed media. Well, maybe you do and I totally have no clue what I am doing am just a girl with no mixed media experience.
I started with speding a small fortune on supplies: Gesso, matte medium, canvasses, brushes. I decided to use my scrapbooking acrylic paints and mists, which I actually have a lot...... (shame shame)

I looked at some of the pins on my Mixed Media Board on Pinterest and decided I should not let myself get overwhelmed with all the techniques and tutorials, I was just going to start.

Supplies:

Gesso: Liquitex
Matte Medium: Liquitex
Glosse: Ranger
Paint: Making Memories, Delta Ceramcoat
Stickers: Doodlebug, Tumblebeast
Glitterglue: Stickles
Chipboard: Enmarc Crafts
Acetate: Heidi Swapp
Twine: Divine Twine
Misc: Wooden stars, wooden heart, canvas

Non linked manufacturers are not longer existing...... :(

Thanks for coming over and taking the time to look at my work, it is really appreciated.

My favorite photo of all times

I have finally scrapped a photo that I wanted to scrap for such a long time. When I showed Dear Son the photo he said: Hey, that is me, but where is that? All those weird looking colours.
I started laughing while telling him the little gopher in the photo is actually his dad and it was taken on a plane flying from Toronto to Amsterdam in 1971.
Love that pic where Dear Husband is sleeping with his sailor ourfit (doesmn't that look absolutely adorable? And boy those colours on the plane, talk about retro.......

I used quite a bit of stash for this and made it look fancy with the new trend in scrapbooking land: GOLD!
Here's what I came up with:

CS: Bazzill
Stickers: Pink Paislee, Skippings*, Jenni Bowlin
Rub-ons: Kaisercraft, Scenic Route*, 7Gypsies*
Misc: bakers' twine, staples

* the non-linked manufacterers are no longer in business

Thanks for popping by, make sure you do some crafty stuff this weekend and just smile..........

Anything goes....

How much fun can a challenge be where the only challenge is: anything goes? Well, harder than I thought and expected. Again I made a card, this time for a crafty friend who need a little pad on the shoulder.

I am posting this for the challenge over at Su-perchallenges. I always loved blue, no matter what but with card I seem to grab my blue inks EVERY time. Sorry if it gets boring......
And somehow the rhinestones in the pics look kinda green but they are NOT, they are exactly the same color as the turquoise ink. Guess my camera played tricks there.

Misc: Rhine stones

Thanks for stopping by again, enjoy hump day today and make sure you do some crafty stuff today!

For a good friend

Sometimes a card does means so much more than a text message or something. This weekend I found a friend that really deserved a card. Sometimes one jsut needs help and then it arrives from a total unexpected area. Well, that deserved a card. And this is what I came up with.
I do not have a whole lot of inks so this is a combination of StazOn, Distress Ink and Colorbox pigment ink. But I do have twine, lots of twine...................... I could have wrapped the whole card in twine if I wanted to.

CS: Bazzill
Misc: twine

I am going ot have a busy week but hopefully will be able to some scrapping. Have a great week and thanks for dropping by!

Let's Scrap Sketch

I can not even recall the last time I got my photo's printed. The other day I was all set to have them transferred and then I decided I'd better get some older photo's scrapped before ordering any new ones. You should see the piles of pics I still have here.

So to make a good start I started with some pics of my DS enjoying summer vacation week in our neighbourhood. I made this LO with this weeks sketch from Let's Scrap

CS: Bazzill
Stickers: Doodlebug
White pen: Signo Uniball
Misc: ribbon, sequins, foam letters

Title and journaling in Dutch. For the letters 'de' in my title I used the outline of the sticker sheet. That way you have twice as many stickers on your sheet (said the frugal scrapper.....)

Thanks for hopping by and remember: You still have until late Tuesday to enter the sketch at Let's Scrap

Another card

I have quit a few birthdays coming up and so cards always come in handy this time a year. For this one I participated in the Su-perchallenges. There was a card up for inspiration and the challenge was just to let the card inspire you. As for me, the blue and the flowers of the card inspired me to make this card. I needed another masculin card and I think I pulled it off. Well, hopefully......

CS: Bazzill
Twine: Divine Twine
Misc: Glitter spray
Again I used the glitter spray. Too bad you can not see it properly here. The pic really does not do it any justice. Somehow it now seems the card has all grey speckles on it. Mmmmhhhhh.....

Off to check out Let's Scrap to see what our DT did and hopefully will do a LO tonight.

Well, anyways, you get the point. Happy hump day all of you!
