Gotta love my mojo

The hardest thing about creativity for me is when I lost my mojo. There is no easy way to get it back. I used to browse online galleries to find inspiration and that worked quite well but with all the major galleries disappearing it is hard to find a good source. Always love the LO's at Studio Calico but they also make me feel like such a lousy scrapper, such talented people there. Pinterest also does the job, though I have to admit Pinterest does the job for all my problems. Crap, I hate love Pinterest.
Sketches and exampleso f the sketch seems to work pretty well for me too,

This LO is made with a sketch from Stuck! Sketches. Awesome sketch it is. Loved working with the diagonal lines and paper that has been in my stash for sooooo long! The pics are from march 2014 while visiting the oceanside and my Little Lady just kept on jumping and jumping from those dunes. Just believe me when I tell you there was sand EVERYWHERE!
This is the sketch that was given:

Products used:

CS: Bazzill
PP: DCWV
Misc: Sequins

The detailed photo's are more accurate that the full LO photo, not sure what it is with my photographing abilities the last two days......
Thanks for popping by and liking my work!

It has been a long long time..........

I have had a blogging break before but this time it was a pretty long one. Sometimes life just gets in the way and sometimes that results in pretty big changes. And when I tell you pretty big, trust me, they are pretty big.

I also had a huge mojo problem because of life and I do not really know where my mojo went to but I can assure you it left the building and was nowhere to be found.
The last few weeks I have been trying to scrap again and I am slowly getting back in business.

I have scrapped a few pages in the last week but none of them were worth blogging about. Until this one............ finally one that got approved by me (pain in the butt I am)

I made this one with this weeks Sketch-y Friday at ScrapMuch. They has a great double pager for a sketch but as usual I only used half of it. Again a one pager. Nothing new here either....

The pics were taken in Paris last year where DS and his BFF since 2yo were visiting to celebrate friendship. This is the sketch they posted:

Products used:

CS: Bazzill
Vellum: Crate Paper
Acetate: Heidi Swapp
Stamps: Stampin'Up
Ink: Memento
Twine: Twinery
2 card: Ikea
Misc: staples, black pen, puffy sticker

Somehow I am not getting my main photo in focus.... will try again tomorrow.

The last two detailed photo's of my LO show the fun I always have using staples. Great way to secure everything and yet still look great..... love staples.....

Thanks for popping by and I hope to be back soon......

Let's Scrap Sketch

As for years Wednesday has been the day for the new sketch release at Let's Scrap
As an administrator I have access to all the coming sketches and sponosrs but it alsways the coolest to see it on the blog (formerly the site) and combined with all the awesome work the design team has done.
I got ot play with this weeks sketch (I never play 'ahead', so when it comes out I scrap it, not any earlier) and somehow it did not work out. I do not know if it was the p per, the title or even the pics. It just does not appeal to me, not at all. I did use lots of stash, so that is one good thing about it. And the photo's I scrapped are from 2009, also a good thing, not only scrap new ones.
Even taking pics of the layout did not work. I guess it could also be a bad day for anything...... makes you wonder.
But hey, a layout is a layout so I am posting it and putting it in the draw.

So after seeing my failure you might want to hop over ot the Let's Scrap Sketches blog to see what our amazing design team did with the sketch.

CS: Bazzill
Stickers: Echo Park, Doodlebug
Misc: sewing machine

The title was cut with my Silhouette

No that I take a look at the layout again. I think I even used two different lines of paper. Both from Cosmo Cricket but different. See; today was not a good day to scrap

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the Friday and the coming weekend!

Let's Scrap weekly sketch

One of the great things about making the sketches for Let's Scrap is that you get to see what others make with your sketch. Every time I am inpressed with the creations. You should really hop over ot see what the design team did with my card sketch for this week. Check it out HERE.

And to make something with the prize I won at Su-perchallenges I started this card. Love this patterned paper. My prize came also with the prettiest ribbon and one of the awesome Stampin' Up ink pads.

I also played with my new set of Sizzix Framelits. They made a great set where Jillibean Soup did the design, Sizzix the dies and Hampton Art the stamps. A great conbination of design and craftmanship for sure. Really really cool set I have to say......
So I used this weeks sketch at Let's Scrap and this is what I came up with:

CS: Bazzill
Stamps: Sizzix Framelits (Hampton Art, Jillibean Soup)
Ink: Colorbox
Transparency: Studio Calico

And again I did not wait for my Tacky Glue to dry. and again: Yes, it dries clear ;)
The sentiment, small stars and the arrow came from the Sizzix set, the bigger star in the circle is a regular stamp from Studio Calico that I punched out with a circle punch.

Thanks for popping by and have a great weekend!

Let's Scrap Sketch

I can not even recall the last time I got my photo's printed. The other day I was all set to have them transferred and then I decided I'd better get some older photo's scrapped before ordering any new ones. You should see the piles of pics I still have here.

So to make a good start I started with some pics of my DS enjoying summer vacation week in our neighbourhood. I made this LO with this weeks sketch from Let's Scrap

CS: Bazzill
Stickers: Doodlebug
White pen: Signo Uniball
Misc: ribbon, sequins, foam letters

Title and journaling in Dutch. For the letters 'de' in my title I used the outline of the sticker sheet. That way you have twice as many stickers on your sheet (said the frugal scrapper.....)

Thanks for hopping by and remember: You still have until late Tuesday to enter the sketch at Let's Scrap

Keep on scrapping....

After my experience with cutting stamp material (see previous post) I thought it would be wise to do something I am capable of: Scrapping.
I had these three photo's lying around on my desk for the longest time and yesterday, while browsing, I found the perfect sketch. This months sketch at My Creative Sketches

This is what I made:

CS: Bazzill
Stamps: Stampin' Up
Misc; sewing machine, washi tape, enamel stickers, date stamp

Now I should really start some household chores and stop being creative. And maybe (well, maybe) I'll try and cut some stamping material with my Silhouette again. Today it might work, you never know.....
Have a great Friday all!

Let's Scrap's big reveal

Let's Scrap has always been my favorite hangout when it comes to friends, scrapping and fun. And much more now since I make their sketches and are one of the administrators. Duh......
We had a site hosted which gaves us more and more headaches. It was a lot of work, very user unfriendly and sometimes way to complicated. So we talked and talked and decided to transform the site into a blog. Same sketches, still have a DT, still challenges and also still the chance to win a prize.
And today is the big reveal: http://letsscrapsketches.blogspot.nl/ is officially in the air. Within 10 hours we already have 200 followers, wow!
So please hop over, start following and see what our DT did with the sketch! You can find us HERE

Besides making the sketches I also love scrapping so I am trying to get my mojo back and keeping it locked in my studio. Not sure if it will work that way but so far so good.

Here's thise weeks sketch and what I made with it:

CS: Bazzill
PP: Making Memories, Kaisercraft, My Minds Eye
Stamps: Stampin' Up
Overlay: Crate Paper
Ink: Colorbox
Misc: sewing machine, sequins

I used one side of the sketch and flipped it so it would fit my pics. I love using those acetate letters and shapes. Thanks Crate Paper! The photo was taken in Brittany, France last year. My dear son searching for crabs.
Have a great Wednesday!

Again, my mojo has got lost somewhere along the way. Not sure what happened but it is gone. I hope that updating my blog with some of my latest LO's will get me going again......
