Some creative links! / Een paar creatieve links!

I am always looking for new ideas and before I know I have been behind (or is it in front?) my computer for hours. One website leads me to another and before I know I have about 25 pages open and waiting for me to take alook at.

In the last couple of weeks I have been looking at some projects and other things I really want to share with you. Don't want to keep the good stuff just for myself!

Last week Jinte was officialy diagnosed with milk protein allergy. So no lactose/lactase intollarancy as they thought before Over the last few months we have been seeing all the same symptoms by Joram too. So I told the pediatrician last week and she right away told me to come by with him because he will probably suffer from the same allergy. Too bad he knows the taste of milk and loves it! Jinte is now starting with eating bread and everything else a child normally eats at her age (she could not start that until all the testing was over) so we have to make sure we read all ingredients to make sure that there's no cowmilk protein in there. Did you know that in almost every loaf of bread there is milk?               To get back to the links. I saw this great project on Chica and Jo about recycling a phonebook into a penorganizer. When we get our new phonebook I will definetely make one. They have a great tutorial on their site with tons of picures. You can see their tutorail HERE. Another awesome project they have there is a tutorial on how to make your own photo notepads. With Mother's day in mind this could be a great little gift from the kids for grandma. You can find this project HERE.

I have this thing with vintage lables. Just love the look of them.................. The iDiY blog has some great vintage fillable lables posted and you can download them for free. You can find the post HERE. They are tons of free goddies on their blog!

Karen from the Graphics Fairy has this cool freebie! The new hot thing is the printed masking tapes. Japan has tons of them. Well, Karen has a downloadable freebie so that you can make your own. I like the colors, make me feel like Spring is really on the way! You can find the freebie and a good tutorial on how to make them HERE

Talk about Spring: The sun is shining, all windows are open, and the comforters are hanging out to air. Ik ben altijd op zoek naar creatieve inspiratie maar voor je het weet zit ik al weer uren achter (of is het voor) mijn PC. Er staan dan zo maar 25 pagina's open die ik allemaal wil zien en de ene pagina leidt me dan weer naar een volgende. De laatste paar wekeen ben ik een paar leuke dingen tegengekomen en die wil ik niet voor mezelf houden. Leuke dingen moet je immers delen!

Afgelopen week is er bij Jinte officieel de diagnose koemelkeiwitallergie gesteld. Dus geen lactose of lactaseintollerantie zoals er eerst werd gedacht. Maar de laatste paar maanden zien we diezelfde symptomen die Jinteh eeft ook steeds bij Joram terug. Toen ik dat aan de kinderarts vertelede moest er gelijk een afsprak worden gemaakt en de kans is dus heel groot dat Joram dezelfde allergie heeft. Hij kent helaas de smaak van melk en vindt het heerlijk.
Jinte mag nu officieel starten met al het andere voedsel dat kinderen van haar leeftijd eten (ze mocht alleen fruit en groente) en we moeten nu dus gaan lezen op de verpakkingen of er koemelkeiwit inzit. Wist je dat er in praktisch ieder brood koemelkeiwit zit?

Teur naar de projecten die ik had gevonden. Op de site van Chica en Jo is een gewledig project te vinden waarin je een telefoonboek ombouwt tot een pennenstandaard. Als we het nieuwe telefoonboek krijgen dan ga ik er zeker eentje maken. Op de site is er een hele duidelijke werkbescrijving met heel veel goede foto's. Je kunt hem HIER vinden. Een ander leuk project wat ze op hun site hebben is het maken van notitieblokjes met foto. Een geweldig project om met je kinderen te maken voor Oma (het is al weer heel snel moederdag). Je kunt de bescrijving HIER downloaden.

Ik ben verzot op vintage etiketten. Ze zien er altijd zo geweldig uit. Het iDiY blog heeft een bericht met invulbare etiketten die HIER je kunt downloaden. Hun blog staat overigens helemaal vol met geweldige projecten en downloads.

Karen van The Graphics Fairy heeft een geweldige freebie. Iets wat helemaal hip is zijn de japanse maskeertapes. Ze komen echt in allerlei soorten en maten en zijn bedrukt met de leukste patronen die je je kunt bedenken. Karen heeft een downlaod waarin je ze zelf kunt maken. Er zit een hele goede werkeschrijving bij en je kunt het bericht HIER vinden. Ik vind de kleuren echt hel;emaal leuk. Het geeft me echt het gevoel van de lente.

Over lente gesproken. De lente is begonnen! De zon schijnt, de ramen staan open, de dekbedden hangen buiten te luchten. Kortom: Tijd voor de grote schoonmaak (grapje......) een paar goede links met info over de voorjaarsschoonmaak: Martha Stewart (Wie houdt er niet van Martha) en Organized Home heeft zelf een hele lijst met schoonmaak artikelen en handigheden.

Scrapping with glitter

There's glitters all over lately in scrapbooksupplies. Though it took me a while to get used to it and actually buying some 'glittered' supplies. A gift from my BFF Marjan made me using it: She gave me a glitter rub-on set (those sticky rub-ons where you rub glitter on afterwards) I had them for a while but never found the proper way to use them. Well, I finally did!

This layout matches the 'Family Walk' layout that I posted before. That's also one of the reasons why there's no main title on it.

When I was going through all my rub-ons to find something matching this layout I came upon the owl rub-on that I used on this layout. It's from Rhonna Farrer and was designed in 2006. Boy, was she ahead of the trends! Tha last year there's been owls all over the place.

Right now I am transferring all my photos from my computer unto cd-roms. I have been a bit lazy with that lately so there's about 5000 photos that need to be copied. I right away sort all the photos and I delete quite a bit of them (you can't keep them all right?) I store the cd-roms on date, which is probably the easiest but I never know where a peticular photo is when I need one (unless I know the exact month the photo was taken) If you know any better system PLEASE let me know! I'd love to hear a good tip!

I ordered about 400 prints last week and picked them up yesterday. So: There's no excuse anymore: I need to scrap!

De laatste tijd zie je vooral heel veel glitters in scrapbookland. Toch heeft het een hele tijd geduurd voordat ik eens wat spullen met glitters kocht. Toch kon ik er niet meer onder uit toen ik van mijn beste vriendin Marjan een setje kreeg met lijm rub-ons en glitter. Ik heb ze al een tijdje en heb ze nu eindelijk gebruikt!

Deze layout hoort bij de layout 'Family Walk' die ik eerder geblogd heb. Dat is ook een van de redenen waarom er geen hoofdtitel op staat. Toen ik door al mijn rub-ons aan het bladeren was om iets te vinden wat bij mijn layout paste kwam ik de rub-on tegen van de uil die ik op deze layout heb gebruikt. Hij is van Rhonna Farrer en is ontworpen in 2006. Tjonge, wat was zij haar tijd ver vooruit. Je ziet het laatste jaar enorm veel uilen in de scrapbook spullen.

Op dit moment ben ik al mijn foto's aan het overzetten op cd-rom. Dat is de laatste tijd nogal in het slop geraakt dus ik heb nu ongeveer 5000 foto's om te kopieren. Ik organiseer ze ook gelijk en gooi er ook heel wat weg (Je kan uiteindelijk niet alles bewaren, toch?)

Ik bewaar de cd-roms op datum. Dat is volgens mij het makkelijkst maar als ik op zoek ben naar een specifieke foto en ik weet de exacte maand niet dan is het toch weer heel lastig. Als je een handiger systeem weet, laat het me dan weten. Ik ben altijd op zoek naar een goede tip!

Ik heb van de week zo'n 400 foto's laten afdrukken en die heb ik gisteren opgehaald. Ik heb nu geen excuus meer: Er moet gescrapt worden!

My Scrapbook Studio

Ever since we knew I was pregnant (which was NOT until 17 weeks!) I knew my scrapbookroom had to be moved upstairs to the attic. Even though there's a lot more room in the attic, I hated saying goodbye to the room I was in. I loved how everything was organized in there and how close I was to Jorams room (And no, he never woke up from me hammering away, LOL)

When we started decorating the nursery everything was packed in boxes, moved to the attic and they have not been touched until last week. In the last two months of my pregnancy I was not worth a dime, and with the hot weather I hated being up there. So last week I finally started to unpack those boxes, sort stuff out (Can't believe why I kept all those empty packages of Quickutz dies for all those years...........)

A couple of months ago I bought a huge size table (200x100cm) so I have a great worksurfacewith the possibility to keep stuff within reach. At this point of unpacking and organizing the table is mainly used for putting stuff on................... I will get there eventually. Now it already looks better than on the picture.

And if you are also trying to organize your scrapbook workspace you might want to consider buying a book about it. Years ago I bought How to organize your Scrapbook workspace by Memory Makers. There's so many good tips in there. If you are smart you might want to Google the terms SCRAPBOOK and ORGANIZATION to get some amazing tips for free (and the money you save you can spend on supplies............)

It's about time I start to scrap again. I miss it!

Toen we wisten dat ik zwanger was (en toen was ik al 17 weken zwanger) wist ik dat ik mijn scrapkamer naar zolder zou moeten verhuizen. Op zich niet erg want er is veel meer ruimte op zolder, maar ik vond het ook wel weer jammer om afscheid te moeten nemen van mijn scrapkamer zoals die was. Ik vond het geweldig hoe alles in die kamer georganiseerd was en hoe dicht die kamer bij die van Joram was (En hij werd echt nooit wakker van al dat gehamer van mij!)

Toen we de kinderkamer gingen inrichten zijn alle spullen in dozen gepakt, naar de zolder verhuisd en niet meer aangeraakt tot vorige week. In de laatste twee maanden van mijn zwangerschap was ik echt niets waard en het hete weer (en daardoor de hoge temperatuur op zolder) maakte dat ik bijna nooit op zolder was. Vorige week ben ik eindelijk begonnen met het uitpakken van dozen en spullen uitzoeken (Vraag me niet waarom ik al die jaren de verpakkingen van de Quickutz stanzen heb bewaard)

Een paar maanden terug heb ik een enorme tafel gekocht voor op zolder zodat ik een geweldig werkvlak zou hebben en ook nog de mogelijkheid om er van alles neer te zetten wat ik binnen mijn bereik wilde hebben. Nu moet ik zeggen dat die tafel in het proces van opruimen vooral wordt gebruikt om spullen op te leggen. Uiteindelijk wordt het geweldig! Het ziet er nu alweer beter uit dan op de foto.

Als je ook je scrapkamer wilt organiseren is het de moeite waard om een boek erover aan te schaffen. Ik heb jaren geleden het boek How to Organize your Scrapbook Workspace gekocht van Memory Makers en dat staat vol met goede tips. Als je slim bent dan zoek je ook tips op het www. Als je STORAGE en ORGANIZATION Googled vind je heel veel informatie (weliswaar in het Engels) En het geld wat je dan uitspaart kun je dan weer scrapspullen voor kopen...............

Het wordt tijd dat ik weer ga scrappen, ik mis het echt.

Brads & Eyelets op ruimen / Brad & Eyelet storage

I always hated the compartment containers to store brads and eyelets in. Instead of opening one compartment you have to open the whole box. And if you then need that one specific eyelet you have to poke with your fingers through the eyelets and brads and the end result is that you're always having the wrong eyelet or brad in your hand. A couple of years ago I bought one of those medication containers to store my eyelets and brads in. This one has seven sort of drawers which all have four different compartments that open individually. So I can actually turn the whole drawer upside down to grab the one eyelet or brad you need. A couple of weeks ago I bought a second one so now I have one for eyelets and one for brads. That explains the two different blues. These ones are made by Rotho, but I know lots of other companies make these too.

Lint opbergen / Ribbon storage

Zoals ik al eerder schreef is het organiseren en opgeruimd houden van mijn scrapkamer een project op zich. Er komen zoveel nieuw producten bij die iedere keer weer een plekje in mijn kamer vragen. En natuurlijk is er geen enkele fabrikant die eens met een ander afstemd over bijv. de maten van de stempels of verpakkingen in het algemeen. Maar dat is waarschijnlijk een eindeloze discussie. En opbergmateriaal verkopen voor het scrappen is natuurlijk ook lucratief.

Ik heb heel lang mijn lint opgeborgen aan van die ouderwetse wasknijpers (te koop bij bijv. goede hobbyzaken, er worden nog steeds poppetjes van gemaakt). Dat werkte prima. De korte stukjes die ik over had verdwenen in een glazen pot op mijn werkblad. Maar in de loop der tijd werden de hoeveelheid lintjes alleen maar groter en ik kocht er geen knijpers meer bij. Er kwam een tweede glazen pot (eigenlijk een vaas) die zoetjes aan gevuld werd met lint. Maar als ik dan lint uit die pot nodig had begon het gevecht: Alles zat in de knoop en hoe vond ik het goede lintje zonder alles over mijn werkblad heen te spreiden. Niet echt ideaal dus. Een paar weken geleden was ik oude kleding aan het verzamelen (als je nieuwe koopt, moet je ook eens wat wegdoen, die kast wordt zooooo vol) en kwam twee hangertjes tegen waar in de winkels de stropdassen op hangen. Mijn radertjes sloegen op hol en het idee was geboren: Daar moesten mijn lintjes aan hangen. Er zijn vergelijkbare systemen voor linten opbergen op de markt: Maar dit kostte NIETS! Ik denk dat ik nog maar een een paar stropdassen ga kopen voor Richard........ Jammer dat ie ze niet draagt, ik ga het toch eens vragen in de winkel!

As I wrote before: Keeping your scrap studio clean and organized is a returning task and a project on its own. So many new products are launched every time and no manufacturer is asking the other how big his stamps are, or packaging size in general. And selling scrapbook organizing supplies is booming business. For a long time I wound my ribbon on those old fashioned clothespins (you can buy those in craft stores, they are used to make mini dolls) The little pieces I had left I put in a glass jar on my working space. Over time the amount of ribbons I own grew bigger and bigger and I did not buy any clothes pins anymore. Another glass jar (actually a big vase) was put on my working area to store those ribbons. The fight started when I needed a piece of ribbon. Everything was tangled up and how on earth did I find that one peticular ribbon I needed without spreading them over my desk? Not a very good organizing system. A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning out our linen closet (When you buy new clothes you need to get rid of some too) and I found two little hangers that were used in stores to hang mens ties on. And my brain got working and I had my ribbon storage. There are comparable systems on the market, but this one is FREE! I think Richard needs more ties............ Too bad he's not wearing them. I think I will be heading to the store and ask for some.

De zolder opruimen / Cleaning up the attic

Een van de meest vreselijke dingen om te doen, maar wel eentje die veel resultaat oplevert: De zolder opruimen. Gelukkig hebben we een hele grote zolder, maar dat betekent ook dat er heel veel spullen (lees troep) kan worden opgeslagen. Het begint allemaal met het feit dat er bij ons twee persoonsbedden op zolder staan. Qua ruimte geen enkel probleem, maar hoe vaak komen er hier mensen logeren en dan ook nog vier tegelijk???? Compleet onzinnig dus! Langzaam aan banen we ons een weg door de dozen. Het leuke van de zolder opruimen is wel weer dat je ook veel kostbare herinneringen tegenkomt: Mijn tandendoosje, mijn bijtring en rammelaar, mijn pop, reisdagboeken van onze reizen. Maar ook mijn 'werkuitrusting' van toen ik nog als verpleegkundige werkte (al meer dan 12 jaar geleden, ooooooooooooh wat word ik oud) Zaken die ik dagelijks bij me had als ik werkte. Dingen waar ik nu niets meer aan heb, maar toch ook niet weg kan gooien. Ik besef me dat het op deze manier nooit opgeruimd gaat worden op zolder. Ik leer wel, maar heel langzaam :)

One of the most horrible things to do, but one with a great result, is clean up the attic. We are blessed with a big attic, but that also means a lot of things (read junk) can be stored up there. It all starts with the fact that we have two double beds standing there. But how many sleepovers do we have and then: How many of them come with four? Completely no use! Slowly we are sorting through the boxes. The fun thing about cleaning the attic is finding all those precious memories: My toothbox, my rattle, my favorite doll, our travel journals. But I also found my nursing equipment from when I was still working as a RN (more than twelve years ago, OMG, I am getting old. All things I brought and used daily when I worked, but will probably never use again., but also can not toss out. Don't worry, I realize that our attic will never be cleaned up this way. I do learn, it just takes a while :))

Rub-ons

In de wereld van het scrappen noemen we het rub-ons. In het alledaagse leven doen we niet zo heel ingewikkeld en noemen we het wrijfletters (en -vormen)

In de loop der jaren heb ik aardig wat organisatietalent gekregen wat betreft het scrappen en ben over het algemeen erg tevreden over het resultaat. Ik heb alleen altijd ruzie gehad met mijn rub-ons (wrijfletters en -vormen dus) Eerst bewaarde ik ze in een tijdschriftenhouder. Dat werkte niet en toen ben ik ze in een map met insteekhoezen gaan bewaren. Dat ging op zich prima, alleen werd ik gek van het bladeren door die mappen om de juiste rub-ons te vinden. En als ik dan eenmaal de juiste gevonden had deed ik de map weer dicht en kon dan van voor af aan beginnen als ik ze weer terug wilde stoppen. Dat moest dus anders! Uiteindelijk heb ik een (uittrekbare) harmonicamap gekocht (Creative Memories Expandable File Mate) Deze heeft verschillende vakken met daarin allemaal tabmappen. Ik heb mijn rub-ons georganiseerd op thema (alfabet, kinderen, spreuken, decoratief, kerstmis, seizoenen, vakantie etc.) Ik hoef dan alleen maar de map eruit te halen en open te vouwen en heb mijn rub-ons gevonden! Ik heb dit systeem nu een paar weken en moet zeggen: Het bevalt me prima! Het kan ook trouwens een prima systeem zijn voor het opbergen van stickers.

Een laatste tip: Om te zorgen dat het achtervel niet van mijn rub-on afvalt niet ik die altijd vast.

Over the last couple of years I've become pretty creative when it comes to scrapbook organizing. Overall I am pretty happy with how I have organized my stash. The one thing I have been fighting with for a couple of years: My rub ons. I started with storing them in a magazin holder. That did not work out; they got bended and got stuck to eachother. After that I kept them in a binder (letter size) with sheet protectors. That was not bad until I needed a sheet: I had to flip through the entire binder to find one. When I finally found the one I needed I closed the binder and could start all over again when I was going to put it back. Something had to be changed here! A couple weeks ago I bought an expandable file folder (Creative Memories Expandable File Mate) It has different sections with loose file folders. I organized my rub-ons theme wise (Alphabet, decorative, numbers, kids, christmas, quotes and so on) Now I just have to take the file folder out and there are my rub-ons. So far: This is a great way of storing your rub-ons. It could very well work for stickers too! One last tip: To make sure that the paper backing of the rub ons stays in place, I staple it to my rub-ons.

Always organizing

I have an awesome scrap studio and still I am always trying to organize it better. I think it will always be like that, but I do have some handy things that I probably will not change anymore. I have two big magnet boards with some of the storage items from the Making Memories Modulair Systeem. It is a really handy system and the magnets are so darn cute! Underneath I attached hooks so tons off stuff can be hang there.Especially those things that I want to keep in sight.


Beside my cutting mat there are two pots/vases with ribbon. There's tons more in other spots, but these ones are at close range. Al the way in the corner there's a little basket which contains all sorts of tape; normal ones, double sided in all sizes, foam tape, dots and so on. In the little storage tin beside it are different kind of supplies like my UnDu, bookbinding glue, Diamond Glaze, PaperGlaze, ModPodge and a little glass jar where I keep all the little sticks that come with rub-ons. Do not ask me why, I have no clue what so ever! And ofcourse there's my Making Memories Toolkit. When I bought it I was talked in to the Luxe version. It costed an arm and a leg but I'll have to admit; It's been worth every cent so far. In that same corner there's a little halogen light for those times when I need that little bit of extra light. Though my regular light is a bit special too. Since a couple of months I replaced the regular bulb by a daylight bulb. And it works; colors are much better. I did buy one with 100 Watts, you can never have enough light. One thing......it does not give me a tan.


On the side there this little drawer cabinet that came from Ikea (too bad, it's discontinued). I use it to store my punches, my metal hardware, beads, glitter, microbeads and ZipLocks in all sizes (those are soooo handy to have around) The rack that is hanging is also from Ikea. It originally should be hanging in the kitchen with jars of herbs and so on but I use it to store my paint, juwels, Stickles, bottles of ink, Tacky Glue, a couple of jars of Prima Flowers and some other stuff that was hard to organize and that I do want to keep in reach and in sight. Before you go start to run to Ikea, this rack is also discontinued (at least here in Europe)


On the inside of the door I keep my foam stamps. Very simple: I bought lots of metres of self stick Velcro and stuck it on the door (dear husband was NOT amused). I sticked the other half on the foam stamps and my system was born. Unfortunately then Making Memories started to make foam stamps that were double sided. So they are kept in a box. And therefor I use them not as much as I want. Simply because I do not see them!


Beside my working space I have room for a little drawer cabinet. On top I keep my brushes and my Totally Cool Tote. I bought one way before they started making those turning ones. So what I did: put a Lazy Susan underneath. Simple as that! My most essential tools are kept in there; my cutting machine, stapler, Basic Grey File Set, Crop-A-Dile, date stamp, rulers, scissors, knifes, spare blades for all kinds of tools. But also lots of markers that I use on a regular base.


I have two cupboards / cabinets that store my cardstock and my patterned paper. Since getting a good paper storage system here in Europe is almost impossible I had to be inventive. You can imagine shipping costs to Europe for all those fancy systems. So the storage I used was not made for paper storage in the bgeinning. I keep my cardstock in containers that were used for storing LP's. I bought them at a rummage sale. The other cabinet for my patterned paper was given to my by my SIL Karin. She found it by the garbidge at the school she works for. I use dividers to keep the different lines apart from each
other. In the first slot I keep those lines which I have been using already. So there could be half sheets or scraps in there. The last slot is used for those lines I only have one or two sheets of. My used cardstock I keep in page protectors and sort it by color.


My unmounted stamps I store in CD cases. I first take the inner part out (the part where your CD is supposed to be) Don't worry about getting CD cases without the inner part, it is so easy to take out! I leave the clear stamps on their sheets, but the Inque Boutique stamps I stick in the case.


To paint I use those little aluminum containers (they have a 5 cm diameter) that you will find in the cooking section of your grocery store. If I paint with colors I have ready I mainly paint out of the bottle or jar. But when I have to mix colors I use those little containers. I have the bad habit of not cleaing tohse things right away. Now I can just toss them without feeling bad!


Lots of chipboard shapes and alpha's are packed in #$$#%$ packages. You can never get them bag in their original package or the package is not ment to put it back in, simply because you have to tear it apart to get the chipboard out. I try to store verything in its original package, but when not possible I keep them in ZipLocks. All those bags I keep in a container, so it will at least look a bit organized. Sometimes I even put the etiket of the package in the ZipLock. You can also write on the ZipLock with a permanent marker if you please.



Most of my stuff I keep my my shelving cabinet, Expedit by Ikea. Since a couple of months they also make doors and drawers for this cabinet, so I will have to look into that. On the side of it I hung a magazine rack, also from Ikea: the Allamala. In there I keep my losse sheets of chipboard, and all kinds of foam and felt, like the velt from Queen & Co.


For a long time I kept my Prima Flowers and buttons in their original package. But I noticed that packages were hiding behind each other and I did not use them simply because I did not see them. The regular and big flowers I keep in storage jars ansd the mini and tiny ones I keep in their original package (which I keep in the kitchen rack). I stopped sorting buttons! I put them all together in jars, and I love it. It looks great! Very decorative.



The window seal did not have a whole lot of function to begin with. My studio has its windows on the south and there for I can not put anything paperish in the window. It would loose its color in no time.
My printer has always been there. Great spot. Last year I switched from the Quickutz to the BigKick and that got its own place in the window seal. It can stand the sun, and it's not in the way on my tabletop. Beside it there's a basket with dies I do not have storage for (Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Revolution)



At last a total view of my tabletop. An ideal space where I can work relaxed and make a HUGE mess. In the middel there's a drawer cabinet which has a container on top where I put my trash paper in. I know, I keep most of my scraps, but there are some pieces that are really to small to keep. That container is empties in our papaerwaste. Have to think about the environment right?
So I am very very content with my studio. Though.......Moving the studio to the attic............

Altijd weer organiseren

Ik heb een prachtige scrapkamer en toch ben ik altijd weer bezig om het beter te organiseren. Volgens mij blijft het onhandig, maar toch heb ik inmiddels wel een aantal dingen die ik zekr niet meer wil veranderen. Ik heb twee hele grote magneetborden met daarop een aantal elementen van het Making Memories Modulair Systeem. Superhandig. ook de bijbehorende magneten zijn supergaaf! Daaronder hangen haken waar ik van alles en nog wat aan kan ophangen. Naast mijn werkplek staan twee potten met lint. Ik heb ook nog een aantal mandjes en klosjes met lint, maar dit staat gewoon lekker in de buurt.

In de hoek naast mijn werkplek staat een mandje met alle mogelijke soorten tape: Gewoon, dubbelzijdig (in diverse breedtes) en foamtape, maar ook foamblokjes, foamstrips en alles wat je je kan bedenken en plakt. In het blikje ernaast staan zaken zoals mijn UnDu, boekbinderslijm, Diamond Glaze, PaperGlaze, ModPodge en een klein potje waar ik iedere keer het stokje van mijn rub-ons in stop. Vraag me niet waarom! En natuurlijk mijn Making Memories Toolkit. Ik ben ooit overstag gegaan voor de luxe versie en ik moet zeggen: Ik heb er nog geen seconde spijt van gehad! Verder staat er daar ook een klein halogeenlampje die me helpt als ik het met het gewone licht niet meer kan zien. Overigens is het gewone licht ook wel een beetje bijzonder. Sinds een aantal maanden heb ik een daglichtlamp. En dat bevalt me geweldig! Alle kleuren zijn beter en het werkt ook nog eens heel prettig. Ik heb er wel gelijk eentje gekocht van 100 Watt. Je kan maar licht genoeg hebben........

Naast mijn werkhoek staat een klein kastje van Ikea (oude model, ze verkopen deze versie helaas niet meer) met daarin mijn ponsen, metaalwerk, ziplocks, kralen, glitter en microbeads. Het rek wat er boven hangt komt ook bij Ikea vandaan. Het moet oorspronkelijk dienst doen als keukenrek, maar nu gebruik ik het voor mijn verf, bling, Stickles, inktflesjes, Tacky Glue, een paar potjes Prima Flowers en een een aantal andere losse dingen die moeilijk te groeperen waren. Verder is het erg makkelijk dat er haken onder hangen waar je van alles aan kan ophangen. Voordat je naar Ikea gaat: Ook dit rek zit niet meer in het assortiment.

Op de binnenkant van de deur van mijn scrapkamer heb ik mijn foamstempels bevestigd. Heel simpel: Ik heb heel veel meters zelfklevende klittenband gekocht en die in repen op de deur geplakt (manlief was iets minder blij met mijn actie) Toen heb ik achter op de foamstempels ook klittenband geplakt en mijn systeem was geboren. Helaas ging Making Memories toen foamstempels maken die aan twee kanten te gebruiken waren............ Die zitten dus weer in een aparte doos. Met als gevolg dat ik die dus veel minder gebruik. Ze zijn gewoon niet zo zichtbaar.

Naast mijn werkblad is nog net een plaatsje voor een ladenblok. Daar staan al mijn kwasten, maar ook mijn Totally Cool Tote. Ik heb er eentje aangeschaft voordat ze er waren met een draaiplateau. Dat heb ik zelf dus opgelost met een draaiplateau er onder. een kind kan de was doen. Mijn meest essentiele gereedschappen zitten erin; mijn snijmachine, nietmachine, Basic Grey File Set, Crop-A-Dile, datumstempel, linealen, scharen, messen, reservemesjes voor allerhande apparaten, en tangen. Maar ook een groot aantal pennen die ik zeer regelmatig gebruik.

Ik heb twee kastjes voor mijn papier, eentje voor mijn cardstock. Maar dat is eigenlijk geen kastje; het zijn drie losse elementen die in oorsprong gebruikt werden om LP's in op te bergen. Het ideale formaat voor mijn cardstock! Het andere kastje is voor mijn papierlijnen. Dit kastje heb ik laatst van mijn schoonzusje Karin gekregen die het weer op school had gezien toen het bij het vuil stond! Er zitten tabbladen tussen om de diverse lijnen te scheiden.Verder heb ik het voorste vak gereserveerd voor lijnen waar ik al mee gewerkt heb en daar zitten dus ook aangebroken vellen tussen. Het achterste vak is voor papier waar ik nog maar een of twee vellen van over heb. Het aangebroken cardstock bewaar ik op kleur in page

protectors.

Mijn unmounted stempels bewaar ik in CD-hoesjes waar ik eerst de binnenkant heb uitgesloopt. Supermakkelijk bewaren. Ik moet eigenlijk nog steeds etiketjes plakken op de ruggen met daarop wat er in zit, maar zo ver ben ik nog niet gekomen. Ik laat de stempels wel op hun oorspronkelijke matjes zitten. Behalve dan de stempels van Inque Boutique, die plak ik rechtstreeks in het CD-hoesje.

Om te verven gebruik kleine bakjes die ik gewoon koop bij een huishoudwinkel. Ze zijn ongeveer vijf centimeter in doorsnee. Als ik een kleur gebruik die ik kant en klaar heb dan verf ik over het algemeen gewoon uit het flesje of potje, maar als er gemengd moet worden doe ik dat altijd in zo'n bakje. Ze staan in de huishoudwinkels vaak bij de ovenschalen. Ook zou je eens bij de snackbar of shoarmazaak kunnen vragen of je een paar kleine potjes kan krijgen/kopen waar zij de sauzen indoen. Ideaal. En met name omdat ik nog wel eens de neiging heb om niet direct de bakjes uit te spoelen. Dat staat het uit te drogen en dan kan ik dat bakje gewoon weggooien.

Heel veel chipboard vormen en alfabetten zitten in de meest waanzinnige verpakkingen. Het komt er op neer dat je ze er nooit meer in krijgt of dat de verpakking helemaal niet meer geschikt is om er iets in te bewaren. In principe bewaar ik alles in de originele verpakking, maar als dat niet gaat doe ik het in ZipLock zakjes. Al die zakjes bewaar ik dan weer bij elkaar zodat het in ieder geval een beetje georganiseerd lijkt............ Soms doe ik ook het etiket van de oorspronkelijke verpakking in het zakje zodat ik nog weet welk merk ik gebruik. Je zou natuurlijk ook met een permanente marker op de zakjes kunnen schrijven.

De meeste spullen bewaar ik in mijn kast, de Expedit van Ikea. Sinds kort maakt Ikea ook deutjes en laatjes voor deze kast, dus daar ga ik zeker eens naar kijken. Aan de zijkant van de kast heb ik een tijdschriftenrek opgehangen. Ook deze komt weer bij Ikea vandaan: De Allamala. Daarin bewaar ik los chipboard, en allerlei vilt zoals het vilt van Queen & Co.

Ik heb heel lang alle Prima Flowers en knopen in de oorspronkelijke verpakking bewaard maar kwam er al heel snel achter dat ik daardoor heel veel bloemen niet gebruikte. De ene verpakking schoof achter de andere en werd dus vergeten. De reguliere en grote bloemen bewaar ik in voorraadpotten en de inieminie bloemen bewaar ik in de originele verpakking. De knopen sorteer ik gewoon helemaal niet meer! Die stop ik gewoon in zo'n zelfde voorraadpot en dat bevalt me prima. En ik moet zeggen; het ziet er ook nog leuk uit boven op de kast.

De vensterbank heeft altijd een minimale functie gehad, er stond wat decoratie en verder kon ik er eigenlijk weinig mee. Mijn scrapkamer ligt op het zuiden dus als ik layouts of papier in de vensterbank legde was de kleur er in no time uit. Mijn printer staat al al die tijd in de vensterbank. Een prima plek. Vorig jaar ben ik overgestapt van de Quickutz naar de BigKick en die heeft nu zijn eigen plaatsje gekregen in de vensterbank. Ruimte genoeg, kan prima tegen de zon en op mijn werkplek zou het toch maar een sta in de weg zijn. Verder staat daar nog een doos met allerlei dies waar ik geen opbergsysteem voor heb (Sizzix, Cuttlebug, Revolution)

Als laatste een overzicht van het werkblad. Een ideale ruimte waar ik heerlijk aan kan werken. Aan de linkerkant staat de computer en rechts kan ik lekker scrappen. In het midden staat een ladenblok onder het werkblad met daarop een bak voor resten papier en cardstock die echt in het oud papier kunnen. Dat zijn vaak piepkleine stukjes, maar........... een beter milieu begint bij je zelf. Kortom, ik ben echt SUPER tevreden met mijn scrapkamer! Alhoewel....... scrappen op de zolder blijft toch stiekem wel een droom.
