Pink layout

With a boy in the house there's not many opportunities given to scrap pink. For the Spring crop at WeScrap I hosted a monochromatic challenge and with my ultrasound pictures I thought it would be a great chance to scrap pinks (No, we do NOT know what it is going to be!)! Monochromatic is nothing more than using all your supplies in different shades of one color. The effect can be stunning without taking away the attention of the photos. This is what I came up with:

Met een jongen in huis zijn er niet veel mogelijkheden om roze te scrappen. Toen ik een challenge moest verzinnen voor de Spring crop bij WeScrap kwam ik met het idee voor een monochromatic layout. Monochromatic betekent niets anders dan het gebruiken van al je materiaal in dezelfde tint. En met de foto's van mijn echo had ik een mooie gelegenheid om iets roze te scrappen (Nee, we weten nog NIET was het wordt!) Monochromatic kan een heel dramatisch effect hebben zonder de aandacht van de foto's af te leiden. Dit is wat het is geworden:

WeScrap monthly kit

This month the first WeScrap kit will come out. The designers were lucky enough to get one in advance so they could play and make some examples. When the package came to my doorstep I could not wait to start scrapping. Holy cow, that kit was ever jam packed with goodies. There were stickers, flowers, buttons, ribbon, journaling cards and tickets and tons of paper and cardstock. I also loved the fact that the kit was not really meant for a boy or a girl. You can scrap any kind of photos with this kit. I already know what the price is going to be and believe me: Nobody will be able to beat that! I can't show you the entire kit yet or the layouts I made with it but I can show you some sneak peaks (don't you just love sneak peaks???) And just make sure you order a kit at WeScrap when they come out (international shipping available)!

Deze maand wordt de eerste WeScrap kit uitgegeven. De designers hadden het geluk dat ze al van tevoren een kit kregen zodat ze er mee konden spelen en een paar voorbeelden konden maken. Toen de postbode op de stoep stond kon ik niet wachten om te beginnen met scrappen. De kit zat echt barstensvol met spullen. Er zaten stickers in, bloemen, knopen, lint, journaling cards en tickets and natuurlijk papier en cardstock. Wat ook heel fijn is: De kit is niet speciall gemaakt voor jongens of meiden maar ieder soort foto's kunnen er mee gescrapt worden. Ik weet al wat de kit gaat kosten en je moet me geloven: Dat is zo goedkoop! Ik kan jullie nog niet de hele kit of de layouts laten zien maar wel een paar voorproefjes. Vergeet niet om de kit te bestellen bij WeScrap als ie uitkomt (er wordt ook internationaal verzonden!)

Joram has been having his steady group of friends over the years. Merel is and has always been his favorite, I think that place is takes for the rest of his life (well, until he's 10, LOL) One of his other good friends is Nienke. Nienkes mom Diana had her birthday last Sunday and instead of giving a party she dicided they were going to take the kids out for the day and both their kids were allowed to invite a friend. So last Sunday at 10 Joram was picked up and they spent the day at Mondo Verde. I must admit, I had never heard of it, but Joram had a great time. Too bad the weather was not really too good and they even had hail during the day. I did not want to let Joram go empty handed so I arranged some pics of her two kids and made a scrapbook on the wall for her. I matched their new couch with the colors I picked and I must admit: I was very happy with the result. And thank goodness: So was Diana!

April 3, 4 and 5 we'll be having a spring crop at WeScrap: Spring it On! This crop is going to be loaded with great challenges, games and make&takes! I love the community at WeScrap, it's friendly, warm and the site has tons and tons of resources. Their shop is amazing, the prices are so much lower than the average SB shop. So come and join the fun!

Op 3, 4 en 5 april hebben we een lente crop bij WeScrap: Spring it On! De crop zal weer vol zitten met geweldige uitdagingen, spelletjes and make&takes. Als je nog geen geregistreerd lid bent kun je je altijd aanmelden als gast en het hele spectakel meemaken en later beslissen of je je wilt registreren. WeScrap is een geweldige site met heel veel vriendelijke mensen and er is zoveel informatie op te vinden. Ook hebben ze een geweldige online winkel met prijzen die zoveel algerl iggen als de gemiddelde winkel. Dus waar wacht je op?

The other day the March sketch at My Sketch World came out. As a designer I have the privilege to see it way before hand and actually work with it before everybody else does. It's amazing to see your own name and work on a website that has soooo many visitors! My Sketch World has great sketches and they are definitely worth a try.

For this sketch I used my ultrasound photos (okay, I am getting into the baby stuff, totally guilty there!) I always love sketches with multiple pics. I loved to work with the Ambrosia line from Basic Grey. The colors are so warm and vibrant!

Afgelopen week werd de maart schets bij My Sketch World geplaatst. Als een designer heb ik het voordeel dat ik de schetsen al zie ver voor ze geplaatst worden en dat ik er dan mee mag werken. Het blijft geweldig om je eigen naam en werk voorbij te zien komen op een site met zo waanzinnig veel dagelijkse bezoekers! My Sketch World heeft geweldige schetsen en het is zeker de moeite waard om er eens uit te proberen.

Voor deze schets heb ik de foto's gebruikt van mijn echo (Ik geef toe ik zit al helemaal in het babygebeuren) Ik ben gek op schetsen met meerdere foto's en de Ambrosia lijn van Basic Grey was geweldig om mee te werken. De kleuren zijn zo warm en levendig.

Gymnastics / Turnen

Jorams attended gymnastics last September and he is still enjoying like in the beginning (it does help that three of his friends are there too). He loves to move and jump and he is SOOOO flexible. This layout was made with inspiration from the February issue of Creating Keepsakes. They showed a different way of using your scallopped / shaped cardstock. This is what I came up with.

Joram is afgelopen september gestart met turnen en hij vindt het nog steeds helemaal geweldig (wel fijn dat drie van zijn vriendinnen er ook op zitten). Hij vindt het heerlijk om te bewegen en te springen en hij is ZOOOOOOOOOO lenig. Deze layout is gemaakt naar aanleiding van een artikel in de februari uitgave van de Creating Keepsakes waarin een andere manier stond om je gevormd cardstock te verwerken. Dit heb ik er van gemaakt.

Surprise!

Sometimes life brings you everything you don't expect! Last week we found out that we are expecting our second. And I must say: A second child was a chapter that we closed a long long time ago. But besides that: He or she is more than welcome. All of a sudden we had ultrasounds made, people to surprise and all ather kinds of arrangements to make. And when the ultrasound was made we found out that I was almost 17 weeks pregnant. There's so many sweet people around us that offer their baby belongings to us. (We sold it all a couple of years ago) So we'll keep you informed on this big thing!

Soms brengt het leven je hele andere dingen dan dat je verwacht. Vorgie week kwamen wij er achter dat ik in verwachting ben van ons tweede kind! Een tweede kind was een hoofdstuk dat we al heel lang geleden hadden afgesloten. Maar dat neemt niet weg dat het hij of zij meer dan welkom is. Heel onverwachts moesten we ineens echo's laten maken, naar de verloskundige, mensen informeren, kraamzorg regelen en allemaal van die andere praktische zaken. Tijdens de echo kwamen we erachter dat ik al 17 weken zwanger was. Gelukkiig hebben we allemaal hele lieve mensen om ons heen die ons allemaal baby spullen aanbieden (wij hadden alles al jharen geleden verkocht) We houden jullie op de hoogte!
